<There is a structure believed to be originally from the castle which has survived to the present. This is the kayabuki (thatched roof) gate at Sōzenji, a nearby temple.>
The sanmon, alternatively sōmon (main gate), at Sōzenji, a temple in Tsumagi Township, Toki Municipality, is reported to have been relocated from Tsumagi Castle. What is amazing about this gate, apart from its apparent age, is the handsome thatched roof atop. Though beautiful, it may seem fragile. The reason for this is that the gate was originally built in the residential samurai-yashiki area at the northern foot of the castle-mount, and its as such its purpose was less defence-orientated.

Sōzenji was founded in 1354 by Akechi Yorishige, founder of the Tsumagi branch of the Akechi Clan (via the Toki Clan), as the clan's bodaiji (funerary temple), so its links to Tsumagi Castle go back to that time.

Tsumagijō: Relocated Gate at Sōzenji (Tsumagi, Toki, Gifu) 妻木城移築士屋敷門・崇禅寺山門の茅葺門 [岐阜県土岐市妻木町]
