There is a path cut into the mountainside as one draws close to the castle site, and this may also be a castle feature (堀低道?). The shape of the baileys at this site are rather hard to discern and there is bamboo growing over parts, but the large trenches are unmistakable. I was able to reach Hikarujō in short order from here.
