Biwa Castle (Kai)

No ruins remain of Biwajō, situated on a ‘tongue-shaped’ plateau in Makioka Township of Yamanashi Municipality, and the site is now agricultural land, mostly orchards.

History

Biwajō was built in the early 15th century by Kurashina Nobuhiro. Nobuhiro was an illegitimate sire of Takeda Nobumitsu. The castle was essentially just a fortified residence.
