History
Furumaya-yakata was the fortified manor hall of the Furumaya Clan. The Furumaya Clan were established by Nishina Morikane, the third son of Nishina Morikuni. Lord Morikane was defeated at Koiwatake Castle by Takeda Shingen in 1552. Survivors of the clan then followed the Nishina Clan who had pledge fealty to Takeda Shingen. In 1567, Furumaya Moritaka took over the clan. In 1582, he was reinstated at Koiwatakejō following the fall of the Takeda Clan.
