History
Ichibanjin’yamajō was a branch fortification of Ohharajō used by the Ohhara Clan. For more information see Ohhara Castle. In the Edo period it was a compound of the Kōka-gumi. In modern times a rail line was constructed through the site and the area has since been converted into residential plots. Only some dorui segments remain.
Field Notes
If it wasn't for this site's extreme proximity to Hodarakujijō, I wouldn't have bothered even trying to find any trace of it. The website I was relying on to guide me to the remains of Ichibajin'yamajō proved out of date, as now it has been built over with modern family homes. I was able to find what might have been the dying ghost of dorui (embankment), now replete with choking bamboo, but that was all.
