History

It is said that Tsukuriokajō, built on a small terrace of the Yamatsuna River, was the residence of Matsudaira Ietoshi, also called Umanosuke, a son of Matsudaira Nobumitsu, in the 15th century. Nearby, his brother, Kazotsugu, also called Samanosuke, also had a residence, Funayamajō. Funayama Castle (Mikawa) overlooked Tsukurioka Castle.

Tsukuriokajō is a hirajiro (flatland castle) site which sits on a slight terrace in the Oka Township of Okazaki Municipality. Astute castle-bloggers have identified possible earthworks remains in the form of a segment of dorui (earthen ramparts) alongside a rural homestead. I checked it out myself and I could believe it's dorui. The suggestion of a mound continues along the northeastern corner of the homestead. Something > Nothing.
