Recommended: Use an RSS-to-Email Service
Blogtrottr
- In Feed URL, paste the RSS Feed URL from above
- Enter your email address
- Choose as it happens or daily digest
- Click Feed me
Feed by Email
- Paste the RSS Feed URL from above
- The service can also track some SNS accounts and alert you to changes without "following" them
Feedrabbit
- Paste the RR Feed URL from above
- Click Follow
- Account creation required
RSS by Email
- Paste the RSS Feed URL from above
- Customize frequency and delivery
IFTTT
IFTTT is a great option for power users and mobile notifications. I'm a big fan of IFTTT (If-This-Then-That) for several automations with notifications centralized via Pushover for instant delivery management to my watch and phone.
- Create a free account at https://ifttt.com
- Use the RSS trigger: "New feed item"
- Set the RSS Feed URL as above
- Choose the action: "Send me an email" or "Send a notification"
Other Ways to Follow the Feed
You can also use an RSS reader or even Outlook mail that supports feeds directly. I use Inoreader to follow all my favorites blogs and news sites that offer XML/RSS/ATOM feeds
- Inoreader (Web, Android, iOS — free & pro plans)
- NetNewsWire (Free, macOS/iOS)
- Reeder (macOS/iOS, paid)
- Feedly (Web, Android, iOS)
Summary
For the simplest and most reliable options:
- Use Feed2mail or Blogtrottr
- Receive comments by email with no setup required
- Pro Tip: Setup email alerts using your Pushover email for instant mobile notifications
