Shimohiyoshijō is thought to have been a residence attached to Sasōjō under Lord Gotō Katatoyo ('Guardian of Tajima Province' was his honourific title). Sasōjō is also called Sasō-Hiyoshijō and is located in an area called Hiyoshi.
