Shimohiyoshijō is interesting only in that it appears to be one of several fortified manor hall sites linked to Sasōjō. There are no remains of the (generously called) castle, however, and the site is now rice paddies. I came here as part of a cycling tour of local castle sites en route to Wadayamaj
History
Shimohiyoshijō is thought to have been a residence attached to Sasōjō under Lord Gotō Katatoyo ('Guardian of Tajima Province' was his honourific title). Sasōjō is also called Sasō-Hiyoshijō and is located in an area called Hiyoshi.
