This is a fun way to explore the moats around Hikone Castle too, especially if you don't have the time or energy to walk them all. I thought the boat tour was a little expensive at 1500 yen, but the guide was quite good. Lots of history and stories and he pointed out interesting notes for the stone walls and the town nearby.
