History

(Provisional History) In 1426 the Edo Clan took over Mito and their retainers took charge of many surrounding castles to be employed as satellite fortifications in defence of the Edo's main base. Migawajō was one of these. After the fall of Odawarajō to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Hideyoshi's allies, the Satake Clan, with support from the Ōtomo Clan of Hitachi, attacked the Edo at Mitojō, overwhelming it. Minor outlying fortifications like Migawajō then fell in rapid succession. It is not entirely clear when Migawajō was destroyed and abandoned but it was likely during this conflict.
