History
Although it is not known when Yokoyamajō was built or by whom, it seems quite likely that it was part of the network of fortifications protecting the uppermost part of the Ina Valley, which was Suwa Clan territory. In that case it was a satellite fortification of Ryūgasakijō. See: Ryugasaki Castle (Ina).
