History
Oyanagi-Inōe-yakata, also called Watauchi-Inōe-yakata, is another Inōe Clan residence site. It was built between the conjoining of two waterways which added to its strategic positioning. It is thought that the yakata was built after the Inōe expanded their territory into this area. The yakata is estimated to have measured around 100m by 50m in a simple rectangular formation. The fields below are about the width of moats, giving a nice indication of the scale of the site. Next to the yakata site is a shrine, Kōchi-jinja, with some old architecture and large trees.
