No ruins remain of Terukura-yakata. The site is now a village and, fittingly enough, a temple (Terakura means literally “Temple Storehouse”), Shōgyōji.

History

Terakura-yakata was the fortified residence of the Terakura Clan, vassals of the Gamō Clan. The Terakura Clan also acted as castellans of Toriihirajō.
