History

Koderajō was built by Inaba Michisada circa 1460, under the orders of Toki Shigeyori, governor of Mino province, to protect the province's west. The three generations of Inaba to inhabit Koderajō were under patriarchs Michisada, Michinori and Yoshimichi. The Inaba clan grew in strength but lost many members in the 1525 battle of Makita, including Inaba Michinori. In 1534, Inada Yoshimichi relocated to Sonejō, and Koderajō was abandoned.
