Kuwana Castle: Relocated Shoin / Genkan at Jōsenbō (Asahi, Mie) 桑名城移築三ノ丸書院玄関・浄泉坊 ［三重県三重郡朝日町］
There is a temple called Jōsenbō in Asahi Township, Mie County, with a building relocated from Kuwanajō. A goten (palace) hall from the castle's third bailey was relocated here. It consists of a genkan (entrance portico) and shoin (study hall).
The tiles on the temple's sanmon (main gate) bear the Tokugawa tripple hollyhock crest, and it is said that the temple was patronised by the Tokugawa family and that its retinues would bow silently and deeply before its gate.
Kuwana Castle: Relocated Gate at Shōonji (Ôyachi, Yokkaichi, Mie) 桑名城移築門・照恩寺山門 ［三重県四日市市大矢町］
Shōonji, a temple in Ôyachi Township, Yokkaichi Municipality, has a relocated gate from Kuwana Castle. On the temple's signboard there's not much information about the gate, other than that Shōonji actually got it from another temple in Maita called Chōmeiji in 1926. The temple was founded in 1536, and its main hall dates to the mid' 18th century. The relocated gate serves as the temple's sanmon (main gate).
Kuwana Castle: Relocated Gate at Angyōji (Hokusei, Inabe, Mie) 桑名城三ノ丸御殿唐破風・安行寺鐘楼 ［三重県員弁市北勢町］
Angyōji, a temple in the Hokusei Township of Inabe Municipality, contains a belfry which is made from a repurposed and relocated gate from Kuwana Castle. The gate in question served as the 'gabled gate' of Kuwana Castle's third bailey palace. The gabled form of the gate's roof was reserved for special structures, in this case the castellan's palace. The gate was relocated to the temple in 1876, and is thought to have been built originally in 1791. It appears on illustrations of the castle produced in 1825.
Kuwana Castle: Relocated Gate at Ryōjunji (Kuwana, Mie) 桑名城移築門・了順寺山門 ［三重県桑名市］
The main gate of Ryōjunji, a temple in Kuwana, is said to be a relocated gate from Kuwana Castle. The temple further contains a handsome belfry, main hall, dating to 1902, and priest's quarters. Down the street from the temple was an old looking ladder with a bell atop, clearly a simple fire bell, but one which has presumably been in place since the time of the castle-town in the Edo period.
