The site of Hora-yakata, a medieval fortified manor house, is recorded in the Shinputōki. The area is now a farmstead. It's possible that the terraces date to the time of the yakata. History
According to the Shinputōki, Nishijō was also called "Hora Mountain Old Castle", indicating a link to the Hora-yakata. The lord of the manor is recorded as Hora Hōki. And thus it is thought that Hora-yakata belonged to the Hora clan, but little is known about the tribe.
