Iwazu Ino Castle
Iwazu-Inojō is one of several fortification sites in a complex of fortifications centred on Iwazu Castle. The centre of Iwazu-Inojō, a satellite castle of Iwazujō in its very near orbit, was a small hill overlooking a creek. It clearly functioned as a sort of forward guard post for the main castle.

Field Notes
Iwazu-Inojō is one of several fortification sites in a complex of fortifications centred on Iwazu Castle. The centre of Iwazu-Inojō, a satellite castle of Iwazujō in its very near orbit, was a small hill overlooking a creek. It clearly functioned as a sort of forward guard post for the main castle. It’s not difficult to appreciate how the creek could’ve been used as a moat. That said, there are no clear remains of the fort. The site is now a welfare centre of some sort, and the routing of the Tōmei Highway adjacent to the site may have destroyed any traces of the fort.
