Kamihiraideko Castle (Ina)

From Jcastle.info

Kamihiraidekojō is now just fields. The general shape of the fort, perhaps, remains. We can see a koshikuruwa ('hip bailey') around the shukuruwa (main bailey). These terraces now make for convenient paddies and vegetable patches. Apparently the hill opposite was also fortified and leveled on top. I

History

Kamihiraidekojō was one of several branch forts of Ōjō. Ōjō can be understood to mean 'big castle', and the 'ko' in Kamihiraidekojō means 'small'. The site is also known simply as Kojō, 'small castle'. See Ina Ou Castle and Ina Ryuugasaki Castle for more information.

Field Notes

Kamihiraidekojō is now just fields. The general shape of the fort, perhaps, remains. We can see a koshikuruwa ('hip bailey') around the shukuruwa (main bailey). These terraces now make for convenient paddies and vegetable patches. Apparently the hill opposite was also fortified and leveled on top. I didn't go here but it is now a small park and shrine.
