History

Unlike many other Koka Castles this was not a single bailey castle design (yakatajiro). It was built with small embankments encircling individual residences together in a "fish scale" like design or pattern. At least five such enclosures have been identified here but there were likely more. This style can also be seen at Uejo Castle (Koka).
