Myoken Yashiki
Myōken-yashiki is a fortified medieval residence site in Myōken Township, Okazaki Municipality. The site, now a shrine, is located at the foot of the Takiyama castle-mount, and I came by here to inspect the cenotaphs of the Okudaira Clan after descending from Takiyamajō.
History
Myōken-yashiki was the residence of an Okudaira clansman known as Jūrōzaemon in the Sengoku period. It may have been a kyokan (residential area) for Takiyamajō on the mountain above. The site later became that of the cenotaph for Okudaira Sadakatsu.
