History

Nabebutajō was constructed by Ôi Mitsutada in 1486. Ôi Mitsutera had been defeated by Murakami Masakiyo several years earlier and had been forced to flee southward. The Ôi Clan settled in the Komoro area where Ôi Mitsuteru built a residence at Utōsaka in 1484. His son, Ôi Mitsutada built Nabebutajō in 1486. And Mitsutada's son built Otomejō as a branch castle of Nabebutajō thereafter. Nabebutajō is considered to be the forerunner of nearby Komorojō.
