Sano Castle

The Shiroyama Park retains the basic layout of the three central baileys of Sano Castle, but besides that there isn't much else to see. It's a quick stop on your way back from Karasawayama Castle to see where the Sano relocated. The Shiroyama Park Exit opens right up into the Sannomaru bailey of the

History

Sano Nobuyoshi began construction of Sano Castle in 1602 after the Sano were forced to abandon their mountaintop fortress at Karasawayama Castle. In 1607 they completely relocated to Sano Castle. In 1614 their lands were seized and the castle was permanently abandoned.
