History

Shimizuyama castle was built in 1591, by Sou Yoshitoshi. It was ordered by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, in preparation of the invasion of Korea. It was built on the hill, where Kaneishi castle was at the foot of it. After the failed invasions(1592-1598), the castle lost any purpose and was abandoned. There are 3 baileys, just numbered from 1 to 3, of which Ichinomaru (first bailey) was on the highest position.
