Shinmeiyama Fort
The trail up to Shinmeiyama Fort drops you at the horikiri trench between Shinmeiyama Fort and Dogiyama Fort. You could visit them in either order. Shigeyama Fort is not often covered and as far as I can tell it is overgrown with no visible ruins.

History
After Hideyoshi abandoned Tenjinyama Fort for being too exposed to the Shibata forward line, he built his new forward line on this ridge anchored at Shinmeiyama Fort. Dogiyama Fort is on the speartip of the ridge facing the Hokkoku Kaido. Even further up the ridge from Shinmeiyama Fort was another Shigeyama Fort designed to protect this ridge from a mountain incursion from Shibata forces.
See the Battle of Shizugatake for details.
