History
From the Kamakura Period the Nakazawa Clan held sway over the area and it is thought that they may have built Takadajō. Takami Sonbē, a relative of the Nakazawa, was castellan at one point in the Sengoku Period. Neighbourhood names in the village such as "Outer Fort", "Moat" and "Castle Field" survive.
