History
Consisting of four baileys arranged along a narrow promontory and separated by dry moats, Tanagi Castle was built by the Tanagi Clan who were vassals of the Minowa Clan. They were defeated by Takeda Shingen. Tanagijō was captured by Takeda forces in 1545.

I actually climbed up from the base of the cliff via one of the trenches. It continues on the otherside of the road. To my right was the former castle's rear bailey. There is a small marker here for the castle.
