Yamawaki-yakata was a yakata (fortified manor hall) site in Yamawaki Village of Kohoku Township, Nagahama Municipality. No ruins remain and the site is now temples.

History

Yamawaki-yakata was the residence of the Yamawaki Clan, vassals of the Azai Clan. The castellan was known as Yamawaki Jōbansuke. Yamawaki-yakata may have later served as the kyokan (residential annex) of Yamawakijō on the hilltop above.
