Kidokojō is a former yakata (fortified residence) site in Kido Township, Anjō Municipality. No ruins remain and the site is now the built area of Kido village. Kidokojō ('Kido Old Castle') is so called to distinguish it from the later Kidojō.
History
Kidokojō ('Kido Old Castle') is an earlier fortification predating the better preserved Kidojō which replaced it. Kidokojō dates to the Muromachi period; it was a fortified residence of the Isshiki Clan, and castellans Isshiki Shikibu and Isshiki Tarōgorō are attested.
