Fushimi Castle also had little known Sogame (outer defenses) built around much of the castle. The Sogamae was a large earthen embankment parts of which still survive today. The best location to see the remains is actually the Eishunji Temple so refer to that album for

Fushimi Castle also had little known Sogame (outer defenses) built around much of the castle. The Sogamae was a large earthen embankment parts of which still survive today. The best location to see the remains is actually the Eishunji Temple so refer to that album for photos from there. This album will contain other photos of sparse Sogamae remnants around Fushimi. I have more locations to investigate some day.
