Despite having some amazing stone walls, Kameyama is often overlooked since much of the castle grounds are off limits because of the Oomoto religious group that occupies the castle grounds. In addition to those stone walls, however, there are actually many interesting castle related ruins around the city. I still have more to visit myself, but here are some of the relocated structures I've visited so far.

Daikakuji Temple: This large temple in Arashiyama houses a nagaymon gate (called the "Akechi Mon") and the Shoin hall of the palace (called "Akechi Jin'ya").

Daihatsu Numata Motors: The nearest gate to the castle is this nagayamon gate which was repurposed for a Daihatsu Numata Motors office. Supposedly the structure is well preserved but has been added on to and the roof tiles have been replaced with a mix of period and non-period tiles. Even the period ones are not original to this structure and it is debatable whether it would have had a shachihoko or not. B+ for effort

Hozu District Community Center: The building was part of the entrance to the palace at Kameyama Castle.

Bungakuji Sanmon Gate: This yakuimon style gate is from Kameyama Castle. At first I was excited to see the large Akechi crest on the gate, but apparently it was also used for a number of administrative functions so the gate may have been from administrative offices in the castle.

Chiyokawa Elementary School Gate: This was a gate to the palace. I got permission from the guard standing outside the gate to take photos since school kids were about as long as I took photos with no people in them. It took a bit of waiting...

Oomoto Bishamonso Gate: A gate from the residence of one of the upper level retainers (karo). There are also several old Edo Period walls around what was once a residence of the Heki, Hatamoto to the Tsuda Domain. These walls have frequently been used in Edo Period dramas. These photos are above in the main album.
