Field Notes

Tashirodejō is a low-lying yamajiro (mountaintop castle) ruin in Shimoyama-Tashiro Township, Toyota Municpality. The ruins include earthworks consisting of the main bailey and a corner segment of dorui (earthen ramparts). The single-bailey fort was a satellite fortification of Tashirojō on the hill across the Irikitagiri valley, serving as a look-out platform. The trail to this site is opposite the old trail to Tashirojō.
