History

The castle was likely a fortification of the Yamanaka clan. Unlike many other Koka Castles this was not based on a yakatajiro design. It was more like the fish scale design of Kuraji Castle. A large area was surrounded on 4 sides by embankments and trenches. Within this area individual living areas were further subdivided by a combination of trenches and embankments.
